Born and grown-up at La Boca, inhabitant during three years, at the time far and lonesome little town of Florencio Varela, and definitely settled in Quilmes. Severi personifies in his work an intelligent and sensitive introspection of the popular, that not casually I rated as aristocratic, for what it has of noble and notable.
Man of an extensive humanist preparation, with a very rich baggage of the different ways of the realisation of the difficult order chosen as a way of life - painter, drawer, engraver, illustrative, moralist, ceramist and stained-glass art. Throughout the years he has kept faithful to a vision of a world of childhood and youth, to transmit with the passion that characterised him, all the mystery that is hidden through the aspects of the most simple things, that he humanises. Giving them the condition of "sacred", from his deep faith in what he loves, essentially loveable. We shall not forget in any way his sensitive, almost merciful religious painting.

Biography of Aldo Severi

1928. Born in La Boca (Buenos Aires) on the June 27th , whose         ascendants were from the region of Emilia Romagna and Genoa.
1950. Graduated from the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS         "PRILIDIANO PUEYRREDON", after having accomplished his cycle         at the "MANUEL BELGRANO" school, completing his studies later         at the Superior "ERNESTO DE LA CARCOVA", Buenos Aires.
1951. Initiates an intense educational labour as a professor in schools,         elementary schools, State and Private, without leaving his         painting and obtaining several distinctions.
1972. From that year, up to 1980 was illustrative of stories and poems         of "LA PRENSA" Newspaper, in the traditional Sunday's cultural         supplement printed in sepia colour. Buenos Aires.
1973. He's elected QUILMES CITY HALL CULTURE DIRECTOR.
1980. He's elected DIRECTOR of the CITY HALL MUSEUM OF VISUAL         ARTS of QUILMES. During his direction the first opening is         produced, convoking to all plastic artists of Quilmes and all the         Nation, shows are developed in all levels and tendencies of art,         adding to the City Hall patrimony more than 250 works, among         them a lithography of Pettoruti.
1982. "ENCOTEL" (National Company of Mails and Telegraphs) publishes         2 mail stamps corresponding to the cycle "ARGENTINE ART", one         of them "EL ORGANILLERO" of Aldo Severi and the other of         Santiago Cogorno, "FLORES".
1983. He's distinguished by the FOREIGN RELATIONS AND CULT         MINESTRY to represent Argentina, in the "17th BIENNIAL         INTERNATIONAL OF ART OF SAN PABLO" BRASIL, selected by the         CULTURAL AFFAIRS DIRECTION OF THE FOREIGN OFFICE.
1985. ENCOTEL publishes a mail stamp with the work painted by         Severi-Arce named "CADA DIA CANTA MEJOR" in homage to the         50th Anniversary of Carlos Gardel.
1990. He's designated by Decree 6354 " ILLUSTRIOUS NEIGHBOUR" by         the County of Quilmes, sponsored by the DIRECTION OF FINE         ARTS OF THE PROVINCE OF BUENOS AIRES, develops a         retrospective in the PROVINCIAL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS, called         "A MI BUENOS AIRES QUERIDO", La Plata, October 1990.
        Invited by the GENERAL DIRECTION OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS OF         THE ARGENTINE FOREIGN OFFICE and selected by the ADVISORY         COUNCIL OF PLASTIC ARTS, Aldo Severi is invited and         participates as an artist and caretaker of the show, representing         our Nation.
1991. Invited by the CULTURAL UNDERSECRETARYSHIP OF THE         NATION, develops an anthological show called "A JULIO DE CARO         Y SU SEXTETO" at the lounges of PALAIS DE GLACE, presents         the catalogue, the artist and the bright academic Guillermo Roux.         The Show is presented in name of THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF         TANGO by the "Tango Academic" Ben Molar. Buenos Aires, from         June 18th through July 7th.
        The "NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TANGO" designates him ACADEMIC         in merit to his artistic course whose recurrent thematic is TANGO         and the popular.
        During October Aldo Severi travels with his wife Giuliana to         PERUGIA (Italia) by special invitation of the GOVERNMENT OF         THE DELL'UMBRIA REGION, to develop in November a great show         of his most representatives works at the historic "PALAZZO DEI         PRIORI" in Perugia.
1992. He's incorporated as a teacher during August and September at         the prestigious "UNIVERSITA ' ITALIANA PER STRANIERI" in         Perugia, in the professorship of CONTEMPORANEOUS ART.
        Immediately is invited by the ITALY LATIN-AMERICAN INSTITUTE         to present the Second Individual Show.
        The RAI publishes a video called "THE COLOURS OF BUENOS         AIRES" with the works of the Master Aldo Severi, the last         presentation in Italy at the "IL GIANICOLO GALLERY". This fifth         show is a "HOMAGE TO ITALY" with subjects unpublished,         inspired in that Nation of great beauty. Perugia september-
         october 1992.
        He returns to his native Country, maybe for what Leon Benaros         said in the Proa Magazine:…" Severi has not wanted to be more         than an argentine painter of portena thematic…"
1993. He's invited to the prestigious MARIANO MORENO LIBRARY of         BERNAL, as a recognition, to develop an anthological         retrospective of his work, that occupies three floors of the         imposing CULTURAL COMPLEX with more than 200 works, that         embrace the period 1958 through 1993.
1999. Aldo Severi is nominated JURY OF SELECTION AND AWARDS of         the 1999 NATIONAL PLASTIC ART SHOWS, designated in         representation of the Province of Buenos Aires.
        With the purpose of developing an Argentine Art Show         concerning the "TANGO" subject in the "DANCE MUSEUM" of         Stockholm-Sweden, the work "TANGO" was selected.
2000. Show at the "CATHEDRAL OF LA PLATA" concerning religious         subjects.
        Organized by the "CATHEDRAL FOUNDATION", counted with the         sponsorship of the EMBASSY OF ITALY and the GENERAL         CONSULATE OF ITALY IN LA PLATA.
        He's invited to develop a show about religious subjects as an         "INVITED ARTIST" in the XXX traditional "NATIONAL SHOW OF         SACRED ART OF TANDIL" at the CITY HALL MUSEUM. On April         19th 2000 the ''MOTHER OF THE HOLLIEST SACRAMENT CHURCH"         virtually inaugurates the "MUSEUM OF SACRED ART" in the         historical parish. With a great show regarding religious subjects         developed by Aldo Severi as a "GUEST of HONOR" for such         historical event at the City of Tandil, occupies the first floor of         the stated church, destined for the future Museum.
        He elaborates the stain glass art "CHRIST RESURRECTED" in the         Parish NUESTRA SENORA DE LUJAN of Quilmes. The mentioned         creation of Aldo Severi was developed with the cooperation of         the stain glass artist, Professor Marcela Carro.
2001. THE OFFICIAL MAIL with date of emission July 28th, publishes         the stamp of collection concerning EL TANGO, with the work of         Aldo Severi called "LARGE CONCERTINA CONCERT".
        This book is published, called "ALDO SEVERI AN ARISTOCRATIC         VISION OF THE POPULAR", with text from Enrique Horacio Gene,         presented at the BORGES CULTURAL CENTER together with his         retrospective show. Both counted with the auspice of the         ITALIAN EMBASSY OF ARGENTINA.
2002. Show at the Blue Salon of the Nation's Congress, invited by the         President of the Lower House of Deputies, Eduardo Camano.
